About Us

Steps and Leaps was founded in 2020 by Anna L Craig. Anna graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Master of Arts in Music. Since then she has worked in Scottish primary schools and as the highly productive manager of publisher Earnside Music. Initially she founded Steps and Leaps because she saw a need  to provide online music training for children at primary school level during the Covid-19 pandemic. She strongly believes music is fundamental to a child's development: it is proven to improve literacy and motor skills, stimulate the intellect, enhance self-awareness and establish cultural citizenship. Anna is committed to helping bring these opportunities to all children.

 

The concept of Steps and Leaps is to introduce music theory and engagement in a style that is age-appropriate and centred on learning play. The Little Trebles was designed for children in Early Years Education (P1-3) and introduces music in fun and exciting ways. The Rising Stars (designed for children in P4-7) builds on that foundation and integrates an increasingly deeper musical awareness with this key stage of child development.

In 2022 Anna founded 'Anna's Allstars' based in Renfrewshire. Anna's Allstars founded by Anna Craig in 2022. Anna's aim is to encapsulate the joy of music making in children. The choir produces several concerts each year with various themes to engage, encourage and motivate children to sing. “Anna’s Allstars” is your local modern choir for children in P5-S2.
